Tipping Point Theatre: has a goal to cultivate a passion for theatre as well as help ensure artists can thrive professionally. They do this through a professional theatre season, continuing education for professional artists, and childrens’ theatre classes, and more. They are a non-profit arts organization, that not only employs a full-time staff, but also compensates every artist that works on their productions. Professional theatres like theirs throughout southeast Michigan make it possible for artists to live and work locally, and raise the caliber of talent that is featured in our state. They’re proud to work with professional designers, directors and actors to produce high-quality professional theatre year-round.

A Host of People: is a Detroit-based ensemble theater company creating original work that celebrates complexity, imagination, and the synthesis of seemingly disparate elements—at once epic and intimate, political and personal, poetic and approachable. AHOP exists to create aesthetically rigorous, intellectually challenging theatre that is also warm, welcoming, and inspiring to people from all walks of life. All of their programming moves the company in this direction. They choose subject matter and themes very carefully with an eye to stories, topics, and aesthetic approaches that will be equally thrilling to the most adventurous  theatre fans as well as those with less exposure to the form.

Detroit Repertory Theatre: is the oldest alternative professional theatre in Michigan. The Repertory is recognized for its pioneer efforts in all phases of theatre and its strong community involvement. Born and bred in the heart of Detroit, the Repertory, since its inception, has remained in the theatre vanguard by staunchly advocating interracial casting, creating novel audience development techniques, stressing theatrical relevancy, inventing an array of cultural and educational community services and playing an active role in neighborhood revitalization.

Williamston Theatre: produces professional theatre that excites and engages audiences in Williamston, MI, while challenging us all to explore our lives. Williamston Theatre is an integral part of the cultural fabric of Michigan, making theatre for, by and about the people in this part of the world. The company pursues innovative collaboration in every aspect of their work, to establish a home for Midwest artists and engage audiences of diverse ages, cultures and economic backgrounds.

Detroit Public Theatre: produces nationally recognized plays and programs with world-class writers, directors, actors, and designers in the heart of Midtown Detroit’s thriving cultural district. They create bold, relevant work that illuminates the thrills, joys, and challenges of our shared human experience.
